The Vines (WA) Pty Ltd have applied to amend the Outline Development Plan for The Vines. The aim includes changing the land use for the grass driving range to be over-55s housing, adding more higher density housing near the resort buildings, and also changing nine holes of the current golf course layout to allow construction of a two-storey driving range and a 14-hole short course.
The application is now available for public comment on the City of Swan’s website. The application name is ODP-37/G Proposed Amendment 9 to The Vines Outline Development Plan No.37.
The Vines Residents and Ratepayers Association (The VRRA) opposes this amendment as it will change the layout and nature of the golf course, plus destroy green space through an increased number of houses. It will result in more traffic, loss of wildlife habitat, and an irreversible change to The Vines Golf Course. Remember: when the green open space is gone, it’s gone.
